Hello DPC!

I have a shot I would like for you to take a look at.

I have been asked by my boss to first take a shot and now that I have taken some shots use one for the cover of a Welcome Booklet for all incoming students to the West side of the Duke Campus. My boss absolutely loves the shot, but I am going to have to look at this thing for a long long time, and I would rather put it through the wringer of DPC to see what all can be improved.

Info on the shot. . . This is about as small as I care to make it right now. It was shot RAW so I have lots of room to play. So give me what you've got!

Tone mapped in Photomatix Pro, no other adjustments. Can be done a LOT better from the RAW negative:

However CS3 with RAW allowed me to do some things that attempted (poorly) to some of what Robert seemed to have in mind for me so take a look at version 2.

And per bvy's comment I will add a bit more about my shooting situation. Essentially I have had a 2 day window for this. Meaning I got the assignment after business yesterday and it need to be ready to roll tomorrow morning :) This was indeed tripod shot. The idea of the shot given to me from above was to give a specific scene on campus that students would immediately know. The foreground stair case edge is intentionally there to orient the student to where on campus this picture is taken as the clocktower is almost identical on the opposite side. Unfortunately shooting for better light or season is not an option for me as the quick turnaround is the most important thing. Yes the sky is completely faked, as we had a very very boring cloudless sky today.
