Ok, so here I go biting off more than I can chew, however....

I've seen this topic meet with some interest in a couple of threads now so I've decided to do something about it.

I say let's do something about it.
Yesterday's thread proves we have the pictures and even a few talented lyricists

I offered last night that I have access to a professional recording studio, and have been talking with my brother-in-law and he thinks its a great idea and has offered his talents in producing a scored slide show.

So lets do it.

We need find out who wants to contribute images and VOCALS to the project.

I'm willing to coordinate the project, but I'm looking for advice on how to collect images and vocals.
(John has already told me that we need at least 300dpi images.)
We need some method of grading the images and selecting the verses.

So, who's game?

Judi. Both have experience collecting vocals from DPCers using a variety of methods.

And sign me up for both a pic and a vocal contribution! :) Or if you actually want high-quality singing, then just a pic!

I just sent this to the folks at Discovery:

I represent a rather large group of photographers who are interested in a project related to your Boom de Yada commercial. This project will involve the creation of a 60 second video slide show set to your song with original lyrics. The final product will be submitted to your offices for your consideration.
My question is what approvals are needed to use your music for this project and how do I obtain the needed releases?

I sing well too, good enough to be a soloist in the English Under 18;s Canterberry Cathedaral Choir, if that helps.

I think i can sing, but others say I dont do very well at all.... But feel free to use some of my photos if you would like. Email me if you would like higher res. I would love to see this happen.

I can even help with piano, I have access to a piano that can save stuff to USB...if someone will write cords for me, lol.

As an adult. :P As I explain to my daughter, I'm not a girl, but I am a Girl Scout. :) I've been one of her troop leaders since it started in Kindergarten.

The song is an Ice Cream song. If you know any music theory I-vi-IV-V chord progression. Which translates to C-am-F-G or G-em-C-D. I saw one person playing it and instead of a IV chord they played the minor substition so it was G-em-am-D or C-am-dm-G. Its one of those real popular changes. Songs that also use it are, Every Breath you Take, Stand By Me, theme song from happy days, At Last, and many more. I have no recording stuff but those are the chords if you need them. :)

That's up to me and anyone else who has any good ideas, and the Magic Man in Clarksville.

I think for now we can start collecting images and proposed lyrics here, then work out the verses.

Well is he going to make us a track to sing to. That really would be the easiest. then He would send us the track and we could send back our voices only. Playing instruments in different studios might not work that well lol. As for verses don't we have a billion of them!
