I don't know what the "High Pass" filter does or how it sharpens the image, but what I usually do in PSP7 is: remove as much noise as possible, tiny amount of median filter, unsharp mask, then paste the original layer on top of all that and adjust opacity and blend mode until most of the fine details are brought back. This is actually a terrible way of sharpening a photo, and I often end up with a tangle of layers that I can't keep track of...but it's adequate if you don't look too closely. |
