When signing and dating a print, is it common practice to sign the year of creation of the digital photo or the physical print?

I believe its proper to (if you date it) use the date the print is made. I prefer signature only.

I was recently researching a signed print of my mother's. The painting was signed and dated 1952, then hand-signed with the date of signing in 1957, so yeah, what Cindi said :)
