Well... whenever I am in Hunstville I always stay at the Hampton Inn on University drive.
Then again, I have only been there for business and typically flying in the night before a meeting and flying out the next night. I typically go to the hotel, check in, go to Barnes & Noble until it closes, back to the hotel for sleep, breakfast, check-out, work, airport.
In other words, haven't really seen much of Hunstville despite my many trips.
That is where I did my Army training, Redstone Arsenal. Nothing bad there really just watch out for the solders, they can get a little wild down there.
Does anyone have anywhere in particular that you would recommend to stay? Or, perhaps more helpful, places that definitely need to be avoided?
You know they are having an Air Show on June 28th and 29th that will include the Blue Angles. So accommodations may be booked, you should reserve your stay as soon as possible.
BTW: Huntsville is not that bad of a place from what I hear. My friends wife has a sister that lives there and they go often. Never heard them speak bad about the city.

probably Decatur //www.decaturcvb.org/ It happens to be west of Huntsville, but it's got the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge. North of Alabama is mainly Tennessee. Chattanooga is about 2 hrs. away, depending on how you drive.

A B&B would be cool. We have two small children, though, and sometimes they aren't "fond" of that. :)

Ive never been to this B&B but it's in Arab, Alabama & not likely to be booked up because of the air show, but it might be booked up because of the Lake.
I once dated an x-ray physicist from Huntsville, Alabama. The place is not very Alabamaish, but the NASA stuff is fun to visit. Drink lots of bourbon and it will all be pretty.

We may see you there. My youngest son is an avid Blue Angle Fan and wants us to take him. We missed the one in Vildalia, GA last month. So if everything works out we are going to try to make it.
Cool. Let me know. My son is just an airplane fan (as is my husband and father in law). He saw the thunderbirds when he was three (3 years ago), and this is the closest any of the teams are to us this year. So, off to Huntsville we go. :)
