I'm new to DP and have been involved in photography for the last 3 years however this was on a part time at work basis and involved the adverse side of photography low light and difficult situations shooting, mostly with 800 - 1600 film.
However over the last year I have completed 2 friends weddings to see if I have an eye and a feel for this type of work, I used a Nikon d2xs with a sigma 18-200 lenses. My web site is digital-pics.com, could you give me some honest feed back on my pictures please.
The couples loved the photographs and I know that's all that matters, but deep down I need to know what pros think of them..Many thanks and I look forward to all your replies..hopwfully
John, I'm not a pro, but my first impression is that the photography is just so-so. Some photos lack sharpness, though that could be the result of resizing for the web. Some lack color: one of the first photos I saw of the bride, her face looked pale and desaturated. I'd like to see more shots where you get closer to the people and use a shallower depth of field.
The other criticism I have is your sample books. It may be a matter of personal taste but I didn't like the layouts. I especially don't think it's a good idea to have a fold go across someone's face -- especially not the bride's!
Hope you don't feel offended by these comments. There are others here who are experienced wedding photographers who may offer more constructive criticism.

ive seen these wedding books becomming verry popular, is there a webste that does them automatically? and easily that i shouldnt be afraid to offer it to a cliant for the first time?
