would anyone share any thoughts on achieving clear photos, ive seen photos here that look as if they are floating on the screen and can be touched, no flows whatsoever just brilliant :), i recently purchased the rebel 300D and am not getting those kind of photos though it doesnt help much that im a newbie but im so very eager, so please share with me why dont cha

If you want photos with some depth of field, turn the dial to "P" mode and then press the "+ magnifying glass" button, rotate the dial behind the shutter button to select a red focus point on the viewfinder, point it on your subject and press the shutter button half way down. This way, your subject will be in focus and the background will be out of focus.
If you want everything to be clear and in focus, change the dial to "AV" mode and rotate the dial behind the shutter button to a larger number. This way, everything in the photo will be clear and in focus.
its actualy AV mode next to the mode select dial...
that means aperture priority - meaning you choose the size of the hole that lets light in, and the camera chooses how fast the door that lets light in should stay open for the best results
TV mode is sort of the opposite - you set the speed, and the camera chooses the size of the aperture.
