I was recently contacted by a member of the Board for Fusionworks Dance company to donate photography services for their Turning 21....Free to Dance! celebration. Unfortunately, I've another commitment but I thought perhaps someone from DPC might wish to help.
Essentially, they just want someone to come and take promo shots for their website, perhaps from some print brochures later. The photographer will get food at the event, retain all rights to the shots and donate the licensing for use back to them with photographer credit terms.
This is a great opportunity for a photog to get some event experience with candids; the idea is to show "look at us at this party and what a good time we we had, come next year!" -- get some web publishing credits, and make contacts for future work. For an enterprising individual with the proper equipment, there might also be an opportunity to set up a photo booth on site and make sales on the side.
