Glad that's over. Seven 1's -- ouch! I really liked my image -- thought it would do well. Unlike some entries where I know the focus or lighting wasn't quite right, or the post-processing wasn't working for me, this one came out exactly like I wanted it to.
I think I know where I fell short. Where I saw some interesting fractal patterns and watercolor-like effects (subtle things), I think most people just saw a photo negative of an out-of-focus tree. It's very abstract, I know -- a lot of my entries are, and I pay the price for it sometimes. I have a few seconds to convince voters. Well, I'm still learning.
I'm presenting a few outtakes for further scrutiny. I wonder if any of them would have done better. Feedback and comments are always appreciated.
