Currently there is no maternity gallery. There is Nude gallery but a lot of maternity shots aren't really nudes. And not really a good place for children either.

I don't need to open galleries....so I won't.. I answered on a pure personal reaction nothing to do with the photography part of it. Was thinking like when you can choose not to view Rant, etc. I wouldn't ever have to look at a gallery.

Why not create a maternity website yourself? I know that having a baby is a happy and most important time for couples. I, like many others, took dozens of pictures of my pregnant wife. But, it has been my experience that maternity pictures at DPC don't fare well in the voting. I think a new website devoted to the subject would attract huge numbers of people. OPeople that are really interested in the subject.
why not tho??if you dont want to see them you dont have to ...but some people concider (pregnancy)pictures as beautiful art...yes its just another woman having a baby but each individual picture is beautiful in its own right.
thers nothing more beautiful and natural as a woman who is pregnant and i love to see pictures that have been tastefuly and elegantly done. now ill sit back in the corner and go to sleep
My apologies, my comment was just out of curiosity for the most part and had no intention of turning it in to a debate. That said IMHO the female body, pregnant or not can be a beautiful thing clothed or not if the subject is shot in a tasteful manor and I say that very loosely as everyone has their own version of whats tasteful or not and theres no way to please everyone.
I say go for it, fire up a new maternity gallery and if it bothers some people then they simply don't have to click on it just like with the nude gallery we have now :D
I did (see above linky)... it's me own personal business website dedicated primarily to maternity and newborn photography.
I think that creating a gallery here is a valid request given the growing interest in that particular genre of photography... BUT.... I also realize that there are many popular "genres" of photography and it would be impossible to accommodate all of them on this one site so I don't really expect that the request will be fulfilled.
So besides all the negitive people that AREN'T forced to look at natural women, Can we get the gallery?

What if it where "maternity & newborn" it would make searching for ideas a lot quicker, as some folks don't enter much into the title or photographer's comments. I turned my pregnant friend loose in here a couple of times to find maternity shots she liked and would like to emulate...now she's not pregnant any more and I would like to find some ideas for her newborn.
