I've been ordering items on the internet for 14 years now and have never, ever, had any problems what so ever until I ordered prints from DPCPrints. I ordered 2 prints on the 24th of March and still no delivery. DPCPrints say they shipped it the day I ordered. I called the post office and they never received anything from DPCPrints. This is my second order. The first arrived within 5 days. I only lost 7 bucks but the memory will stay forever.
Yes, I have a bitter taste in my mouth because of this event. I will never order again and will adamantly discourage any of my friends or family from doing so.
Anyone else have problems with DPCPrints deliveries?
Did you PM Langdon? Did you try contacting anyone from DPCprints about it? Very often packages get delayed in customs, 2 weeks is quite common for packages originating in the USA and delivered by regular mail. It's been only 9 days since you ordered...
Actually, one time I did have a problem with dpcprints.
I placed the order.
It never said anything beyond "processing."
After a couple of days I contacted Langdon, and he was able to contact the printers to see what the deal was. It was fixed in a couple of days.
Go to Help --> Contact --> DPCPrints and explain the situation.
Annnnnd, if you have never had any problems in 14 years, and this is your first, I'm gonna start letting you place my orders because you are one lucky son of a gun! ;) :)
There is no way to verify if US Mail or Canada Post screwed up so I'm going to play it safe from now on and order my prints locally. I mean DPCprints are OK for travel pics and such but I wouldn't order any customer portraits through them. Are people here using DPCprints professionally?!?

No offense meant, but then it sounds like DPCPrints actually did a very good job. IF they were mailed that day, that is pretty quick turnaround. They can't be held responsible for the USPS or Canadian postal system delays.
And yes, I've used them for professional stuff as well. I usually use my smugmug account though, because it is better suited and set up for what I usually have to do.
btw, SC have nothing to do with DPCPrints and nothing to gain from it so take karma's opinion as one of a user of the service, not someone with an active interest in its success :)

My favourite is when they charge you that $5.00 handling fee... like we don't already get taxed enough.
I don't bother anymore... I simply order my stuff and have it shipped the a UPS Store in upper state NY and bring it across with me, declare it and most times, depending on the value of the item, I don't even pay taxes on it.
I'll take this opportunity to say the exact opposite. I ordered prints and a mouse pad a while back and the prints arrived bent. I privately voiced my concern to Langdon, who then re-shipped my entire order at no cost to me.
Kudos to Langdon for his professionalism. Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your order, but you've taken out your anger on the wrong party. My prints were slow getting into Canada, too, but that's the price for shipping across a border sometimes.
You could try having a lost order with a flash, diffuser and monopod, now more than a month lost, for which I must wait about another month or two for the Postal Service "investigation" and the insurance claim to go through, at which point I can then reorder the merchandise, wait another two weeks, and see if it gets here this time. Bah.

Actually, the total cost would be $5.00 (return) for the bridge and $5.00 for the UPS handling fee.
Considering that I drive to the USA almost weekly, and bearing in mind that I don't have to pay brokerage fees, and wait an inordinate amount of time to clear Customs, the costs are quite bearable. On occasions, the Customs Officer will simply wave me through if the total purchases are less than $100.00 which in essence means I saved $12.00 in PST & GST.

I was more referring to the gas and wear and tear on your vehicle. But it sounds like that could be part of your business so doesn't really count.
I have shipped tons of stuff to canada that I have sold on eBay and it can take a long time to get their. There really is nothing you can do about it. I always advise my canadian customers that it could take up to a month especially during heavy traffic times like the Christmas. Oh and $5 handling fee is absolutely and perfectly reasonable. This pays for the cost of quality containers so that your prints don't arrive bent and also for the time it takes to print,package and send it to you. People don't seem to realize that whatever they order doesn't magically get to their door. Somebody has to work to get it to you safe and sound. $5 is a bargain.
