I appreciate most if not all comments, but try to only mark them as helpful if they're constuctive in some way. I like getting comments that say 'wow' or 'nice', but they're not really helpful. Ego boosting perhaps, but not practical.
I would suggest adding two more buttons, a thumb-up and a thumb-down, where you could then mark a comment as appreciated or not appreciated, and then tick the helpful box if applicable. The thumb up and thumb down would have to be radio buttons, so you'd have to choose between, and the helpful box would just stay as it is.
