We wish to remind all users that Daylight Saving (Summer) time in the United States and Canada start this Sunday morning, 09 March 2008, at 02:00 AM local time. This will affect all site users, including those outside the US/Canada, in one of two ways:
Users in most of the US and Canada should remember to set their camera clocks forwards one hour. When setting the time, remember that most cameras use 24-hour time. Don't set your camera for 7:00 if it's really 19:00!
Users worldwide, as well as locations in the US and Canada that do not observe daylight saving time should be aware that since the DPC server is affected by Daylight Saving Time, this may change when challenge rollovers occur relative to your local time. To determine when rollover will occur, check the Current Server Time anytime after 03:00 AM on 09 March 2008. Although we cannot guarantee its accuracy, you may find it convenient to refer to this page as well.
I'll have to wait until March 30. Always having trouble with an hour earlier or later, but since challenge rollover is in my sleeping time, I don't think I'll notice. Still, thanks for the warning!
Yay!!!! we gain an extra hour of light at night time!
But we do lose one hour of sleep this weekend, but thats ok, I dont mind. That just means I can stay out longer photographing :D
I don't like Daylight Saving Time. The extra hour of daylight drys out my lawn. ;-)
I have friends in co-workers in Norway. They go to Daylight Saving Time too. So, instead of getting dark at 11:00 PM it gets dark at midnight. That extra hour of light sure comes in handy over there!

FYI, Europe won't be going to DST until later this month, 30th March I believe.

You can thank the current US administration's heady energy plan for that little gem.
We won't try to cut back on energy consumption, but hey, lets move the clocks before anyone else in the world. That'll save tons of energy. not.
Ackkk...this always screws me up...LOL!!! Just when I get used to calculating the time difference, daylight savings comes around again!
Google has several free little plug-ins for world clocks - if you had Google as your homepage, you could set one of those clocks to DPC time and see it every time you open your browser :-)
And for those of who are affected by the change but hate getting up early to beat the sunrise, we now have an extra hour to beat the sun in the morning. :)

Deb, you are in Europe! We don't change til end of the month. Just make sure you submit before going to bed at 10:00pm each night:)))
