I agree. I can take really good sunsets from my house but because of all the wires I have to drive 2 miles to avoid the wires.
I want to visit Quebec City,I heard has nice old architecture, but I don't know about moving photo gear across the border how that works?
I don't know how it works in the US, but here in Canada you can pre-register all the equipment you want to bring across the border. I think they take make, model and serial numbers. You are issued an official document that can be cross-refrenced with their database. The US must have a similar system. I know I will be registering my camera equipment before going to Florida next week. You may also want to bring copies of your sales receipts, that way they can't nail you for what they may think is undeclared purchases made abroad.
I suggest you never visit Malta then. There are plenty of great photo opportunities, but with no exception some wire will always prop up within the picture. In some shots I've even counted in excess of 10 wires per shot.
Paul,I have been blessed with having some remarkable views living here on the Cape. Three interesting bridges within 6 miles, the Atlantic Ocean just a few more miles away, interesting old New England towns near. There is a wealth of photo opportunities that if I were half a real photographer I would be able to showcase some remarkable stuff. I find it interesting that my site is a representation of the place where I live and it is great to see other locals from around the world.
Yes Cape Cod Ma. The wires in the picture span the Canal and come from an electric power plant on Cape. I believe they sell power to Canada.
And as you say it is 'classically picturesque'around here. Now all I need is an imagination and photo ability. I'd have it made.
