If a thread is locked for violating some rule it should be hidden (even if only temporarily), especially if it applies to a current challenge in voting.
Putting a 'Locked' icon on a thread title is like a beacon shouting "come look at me - something juicy just happened".
Yes, it falls off the front page eventually, but it still hangs in the 24 Hr Community page - generating additional views.
Just a thought. :-)
