Not bad actually. I think the spider provdies an interesting focal point. Although, I think I might prefer either color, or expand a bit more. Have you ever watched a spider build it's web? They work with such single-mindedness in silence until the web is complete. Try to capture at least part of the web next time.
I wouldn't say it looks like crap, but I don't like it very much. The spider doesn't sharp at all, it looks like it was out of focus, or motion blur perhaps. It also doesn't stand out from the background enough. Good luck with your silence entery.
