Since our fearless leader is out sleeping on the beach somewhere I'll open this baby up for business. Now the rule is we shoot with both hands, one with a camera and the other with a drink. So who wants the first shot?
Hey team I apologize for not starting this earlier. I just got home from a really long day. I have been out of the house since 8:30 this morning.
Well guys let me first just say thanks for playing. I'm sure we will have a blast. I know that we will kick some butt this year and I can't wait until the challenges. Let's just remember that all the challenges are OPEN challenges so 99.9% of the time they are going to be BASIC editing.
As far as rules go here they are. This is straight from the email that I received from Jon. I will post them here along with sending all of you emails.
Well here's our team.
Rules
1. All teams must have at least 5 members enter the challenge. In addition the top 4 scores will be calculated under the weekly average for the team. I’ve decided to use the top 5 because this allows everyone to bring their “A” game to this tournament. Also, a lot of teams have 2-3 great players, and they can simply dominate the entire competition. This is a team effort, so 2 or 3 players shouldn’t be doing everything.
2. In terms of the point system, I’ve decided to adopt a simple one with giving a certain amount of points for the top 5 teams.
1st – 10
2nd – 6
3rd – 4
4th – 3
5th – 2
3. The competition will be 8 weeks worth of challenges. The challenges will be
ONLY Exclusive Open Challenges, since some teams don’t have members that belong to DPC. The first challenge will be on February 20th 2008. We are NOT entering the current challenges (Leading Lines, and Peace) we are entering the ones that come out on February 20th.
4. After 8 weeks, the top 3 teams with the highest amount of points will receive medals that they can put up on their profile.
I could be wrong but I think cujee said after he sent out that email that the requirement per week was going to be just 4 scores not 5 but in figuring out the points earned for the week the top 5 scores are used. In other words if you don't get at least 4 you get no points.
The way I understood it was the top 4 people from each team would contribute to the weekly team average. However the top 5 teams for the week would earn points.
1st – 10 points, 2nd – 6 points, 3rd – 4 points, 4th – 3 points, 5th – 2 points, 6th-11th would get no points.
At least that is the formula we wrote for the points system.
Thanks guys. This past 6 months seems to have been a breakthrough for me. DPC has taught us so much in our time here. Our focus is shifting to paid portraiture so many of my entries recently tend to be in that direction. Very happy that DPC - and those other bastard sites ;) - have appreciated our growth. I hope I can carry on the trend through the olympics!
Well for the hugs picture what did you use for lighting and how did you set it up? If I can't get your mushroom power (Mario Bros.) maybe I could just learn how you use it.
