I've submitted my entry to Silence and I like it. However, now I've looked at another image I took at the same time and I like it too. I'm going back and forth trying to decide which image to use as my final submission. My question is this: does Murphy's Law operate here? In other words, is the picture I DON'T choose likely to finish higher than the one I do? And how do you decide when you have two images that you like equally which one to submit? Well?
I have determined that there is nothing you can do. Whatever photo you submit will be the wrong one between more than one good candidate. It is written in stone somewhere. You can still attempt to be the only person on Earth that breaks this curse by viewing your images at different sizes, at diffeent times, and even in print. I don't very often ask anyone to help me choose anymore because that never seemed to work very good for me. If you do ask for opinions try to get many to get a better average and be sure to say what the theme is. Context is everything.
