Is it just me or only 30 submissions and 1 day to go? Wow my chance to be in the 1'st 30 :)

I don't know about you, but after two tuff challenges like "Conflict" and "Mundane", I need a break!

I don't take my entry until about 1 or 2 hours before the deadline, but I'll probably sit out on another one or two challenges.

I bet if they wouldn't mention "no candles" the number would be atleast double :)

I had a great idea, but couldn't get a willing participant with a gas stove.
Since I don't have a gas stove, I won't be able to pull it off. And, I just don't have anything else I want to burn. And NO I hadn't planned on burning anyone, but wanted to capture the flame in someones eye. LOL

I burnt my model trying to capture "fireortica" and now she is silent about the next shoot :(

I think without that qualifier the number of entries would be WAY higher!!! Knocked me out before I even picked up my camera...

Ideas:

* Burn an object, like a book, a toy, a leaf, a newspaper article, a roll of film, a house (railway hobby-model of course)...
* Do something with matches
* Do something with a lighter
* Light something with flickering flames
* Fireplaces and heaters
* Light a campfire
* Barbecue
* Volcano (Vegas hotal, Hawaii, Etna anyone?)
* Steam engine fireplace
* Flames from an exhaust
* Cooking and flames (fire in the pan, using an open flame to caramelize something, light some spirit in a pan when cooking meat or something)
* Fireworks
* Proffesions that use fire: roofthatchers, glass blowers, welders etc
* Firefighting (actual firefighting, portraits, etc)
* Etc

I decided to submit a late entry.

Frankly the thumbnail does not do it justice but is that ever the case. Assuming folk look at all the entries then just maybe they will "enjoy" my first attempt at Advanced Editing.

I feel REALLY good about my submission. Out of all the challenges, this is the first one where I feel extremely good about it (mostly because I enjoy fire, probably more than I should). I can't wait to see what other peoples' shots look like. This was a great challenge. I'm glad there won't be candles, IMHO.

I can't enter this challenge, but I think if I did I'd shoot a bottle of really hot "fire" tabasco sauce with some nachos or hot peppers or something like that. (We'll see if someone else already had the same idea.)

i was thinking for some reason that thechallenge ended today :( i came home and checked my new score.. only to realize i have to wait until tommorow.. :S... patience... patience.

My shot has hot objects but not actual fire,so I predict 25 ones from the purists....
