Fire challenge help - DPChallenge Forums

Firstly I'm not sure I should be asking, so shoot me down in flames if this is not to be done.

I have an idea for the fire challenge but am unable to create my vision successfully. Can somebody look at my picture and tell me if its worth pursuing? I'll not post it here just incase I do use it (or similar)

OK, so I've decided to lose most of the 'effect' I was after (burnt fingers). Going back to the rules of this challenge, can I alter the colour of part of the background? can I also remove a mark on the surface of the subject? (I know the rules state 'dust' but this is a stain. I only have to beat 4.2 in this challenge (every day I'll get better and better) but would hate to submit a half decent pic with a little ps than one that I feel would be better than my 1st challenge.

Since this is an Advanced Editing challenge, you can do whatever you want to the picture as long as you don't add text or copy-and-paste (or otherwise include) elements from another photo.

The key to remember is that it still should look like a photo when you are done; that is, your photo should look like it could have been taken with a camera. Otherwise you will suffer the wrath of the anti-editing voter...

maybe burning your fingers isnt the best idea for a challenge entry ;}
