I'm thinking I should have gone with a fuller shot of the building, but I preferred the textures of the one I used, although I did like the lighting and framing of this one.
My wife said to use this one... maybe I should have listened to her ;)

As for the guy who complained about the levels :rollseyes: None of the levels were adjusted (I tried fiddling with it a few times but nothing turned out better than the original)
I prematurely posted this during the challenge and got slapped on the hand (still learning). I'm not sure it would have done well anyway. The lighting wasn't cooperating and to get a decent angle, I would have had to stand in the middle of a busy street. So I went yellow.
i'm so p!$$ed i missed this challenge. for like years i been waiting for this challenge (especially during my 9 month long stay in iceland) and of course it had to be announced when i'm out of an internet connection...:(
however i saw the challenge on the last day of submission and went out to get at least something on that short notice, but then did'nt make it anyways.

Old building are one of my favorite subjects to shoot. Oh well... maybe next time or in a free study I guess.
There's some really great shots in this challenge, I think. And some good outtakes on this thread. Abundant old mining sites in my area, just chock full of colorful old buildings. Wanted to enter this one, but was already into another challenge. Wish I would have, in retrospect. This old building just really appealed to me. Oh, well. Had fun shooting it. I actually liked the branches. They added to the abandonded feeling nicely. Sort of a foreground bokeh (almost).
Thanks for your comment. Actually that's how I looked at it too.
But looking at it again after the comments I could also see their point. Without the middle branch across the picture it might have been better. Basically all it would take is to bend the knees a bit so that the branches are more surrounding the windows, the middle one then being at the top. Next time ...
