I'm hoping someone can help me out -- I just got the ML-3 wireless remote for the D200 and I'm trying to plug it in using the 10-pin connector. Trouble is - I can't figure out how to get the cap off the 10-pin thing on the camera itself.
Does it screw off, pop off, or shall I use dynamite?
Oh yeah, and just to be sure I'm not a total moron, I'm to remove the cap that is on the front of the camera, just beneath the D200 logo. That's the right one?
Screws off, can be a bugger to get started. Put the cap in a pill bottle, then tie that with rope to a 10 pound brick and place that in your closet. That way you will know where it is when you need to put it back on. Those things disappear faster than 100 dollar bills left on the park bench.
@ Alan, the manual says "yes" to autofocus. You can half-press on the remote to lock focus, and then press again to release the shutter. I'll test some more and get back to you.
@fir3bird: no kidding! Once Ralph said it unscrewed, I got ambitious with some tools and finally managed to unstick it. Caps are $10-12 to replace if you lose them, I read. I've already lost mine twice, but it's now lurking somewhere "safe." :)
Naturally, my first test of it will be for surveillance. buwahaha
i'm sure mine is lurking in the same hole with the sync connector cover ...
i see a diff design on the d3.. . looks like you have to cut the suckers off to loose them ;)
