I shot these about a month ago and would really appreciate some feedback, thanks.



Canon EOS-20D
Tamron SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di for Canon

I like the color/tones in both shots. The reflections on the water in 'Dock O'the Bay' are nice, composition is good, but the dock appears to be a bit blown out.

'Keeping The Banks At Bay' in nicely compose and probably by favorite of the two (because of the over-exposed of the dock).

I would have to agree with above. I'm a huge fan of shots like your first one. The onyl new recomendation I would have would be take them from a lower perspective, especially the first one.

Thank you, Casualguy...that's exactly what I was wondering, if the dock was too blown out.

Do you mean take the photo closer to the ground? I don't think I'd want to do that as it would have foreshortened the very still water, which I like very much.

While this probably doesn't apply to all shots, I remember reading somewhere that taking a photo at (ironically) eye level is often the least desirable vantage point. I frequently try to lower or elevate my camera location to some degree - I think it can add a bit more interest to many shots.
