I have to agree that the frame is a little bit over the top, as it overpowers the picture.
I'm not convinced about the position of the bow, I neither like it not dislike it -- I guess you put it there for a reason but I am not quite sure why just yet.
I would like to see a little bit more light on the lefthand side of the music sheets as this would draw more attention to the violin itself. I know this sounds weird, but I think if you try it you'll see what I mean.
I like the overall composition and lighting, and maybe my previous suggestion about lighting the left side of the music sheet may not work, but I think it might be worth a try. Overall good picture.
The border is way overboard. That is more to personal taste.
The lighting on the violin is nice.
I think just a little more lighting on the violin to show more of the wood grain, strings and etc would be nice.
The sheet music may be better if it were laid down more like it was resting on a music stand. Draw more attention to the violin and less to the sheet music.
I would also recommend using a different background or bringing everything forward more and blurring the one you have.

I agree with others about the frame, its way to much. I find the violine itself a litle to underlit and maybe you should use another background. Othervise good composition and nice shot.
I am going to give my thougths before reading everyone else's so they are fresh, so sorry if i repeat everyone.
I think the border is WAY too much. perhaps you are just seeing how it would look framed, but still, i think it could do with out for now. It seems very tightly cropped and could use perhaps a little more room. The 'rough' edge cuts in a little bit too far. I like the contrast from the sharp violin and the very soft background. I wonder if the top part of the violin is a bit too dark. The details in the dark is sorta lost. overall a quite nice image.
I like the background, the lighting, and placement of violin and music sheets. I think it would be more effective to place the bow at an angle from the bottom of the violin to the music sheets to the right (maybe) to form a visual triangle.
Also, a simple baroque style frame would do the trick.
The shadows and the texture of the background look phony to me, and like everybody else says, too much border. The original crop, or composition, didn't leave enough room at the bottom, the violin is crowded up against the frame.
I'm sorry, I didn't read the other responses here before making my own (on the image itself) and I see I've repeated what was already said, as well as already rectified.
