I caught this the other day while testing shots of my African Cichlid aquarium. He was yawning while I was taking the photo :) He actually wanted FOOD!

The specs in the photo and on the underside of his jaw are air bubbles in the current created by the large power head in the aquarium.

This is my breeding male C. Moorii - Blue Dolphin
He is about 6"-7" in length :)
They call this fish the "Gentle Giant"

Hi Robin, lovely fish and an excellent picture. Taking good pictures of fish in tanks aint easy, glass, water, light and movement all go to make it more difficult. Maybe you can pass on some fish photo tips?

My Metriaclima Crabo (also from Lake Malawi) is about 5" and has sired a couple of batches of fry.

Nice photo.

I was just tinkering around with some shots not really planning on keeping any of them. When the male Dolphin came up to the glass watching me and just yawned. I was using my 105mm macro lens.

My Blue Dolphins have mated several times and I have sold about $350-$400 worth of fry to my LFS. Helps pay the expenses :)

It is very hard to get good photos from Aquariums :)

On my African Cichlid tank (100gal) I have 2 light fixtures with 2 40w lamps ea. for a total of 160w. I use the ISO 400 and no flash.

Here is a picture of one of my Peacocks. I don't know his scientific name. I do know that they are hard to photograph:)
