This might be one of those divisive threads that causes all kinds of snarky comments and eventually get locked. We'll see... ;-)
It seems to me there's quite a gulf between basic and advanced editing in terms of what you can do. In basic, you can't do any spot editing. In advanced, you can do that plus you can use all kinds of filters, HDR, Virtual Photographer etc.
Is it me or is there some scope for middle ground here? Perhaps an intermediate editing ruleset, where minor cloning, dodging and burning is allowed?
