Would a representation of air (such as neon) count? If not, I have another idea. :)
Some people would say it would, but others may not. Some people will take a quick look and say "it's a neon sign, I don't get it " and give you a low score.
The people that would understand it may give you a higher score, but usually those are few.
LOL! OK, I still don't get the cat thread but that's ok. Personally, I like dogs more but I digress.
As far as I see it, neon is still a gas and the title is elements. And you are right, Spazmo99, neon is an element. I decided not to use my neon sign pictures anyway since they didn't turn out as I thought they would.
I don't think the challenge calls for actual chemical elements. I think it's earth, wind, fire, and water, and that's it. Air is not wind. Wind is moving air. It's pretty hard to take a photo of wind. You can only take a photo of the effects of wind. I think we're going to get a lot of fire and water.
The idea is to use the four classical "elements" of antiquity (like the ancient Greeks): Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. Some considered there to be a "fifth element" called the aether -- it was the insubstantial matter which permeates everything else (and a wacky movie with Bruce Willis).
These do not refer to the actual chemical elements as we know them today.
