It would be very nice if the owners of threads could archive the thread accessed via "see archived post" link, and reset the public view whenever needed.

I have this DPC OFs post, and when I want to make announcements, I see only me posts lined up there; I would like to be able to clear the board and have only one announcement there when I need. This also would help to clear popular threads such as "Pick your fave pic from the person above you 11(!!!)" instead of starting new versions of it :)

Some of the threads here gets longer in time, and some started to communicate with certen group, for example, DPC OFs group that I started. I see only my post over and over again there. Sometimes I have to say something to everyone in DPC from the same thread, but not always. So, if there was an option to archive the thread, i could just click on that, archive the thread; put my new post so whoever checks the thread wouldn't see the whole thing which might be left over from months ago... but if anyone wonder how the thread started and all that could just click on "Archive" to see the whole thing.
