Also - you can always go to Kinkos haha. It sounds silly, but I used to print high quality color 11x17 promo posters on a Konica Minolta c500/c6500 Production Printer.
I just used this poster special. They were at my house in less then 5 days and they are simply amazing. And as long as you order 2 or more of any file they are only $9.95 each for 20X30's. I wont use another service. I have 3 that arrived and they are from ISO3200 files of sporting events and they are spectacular.
The hospital my wife works at just purchased a big poster printer. I was told I can use it if I want but have to pay for the paper I use $1.00 dollar per yard. Only problem is I can only use it on Sundays when all the offices are closed. I will be doing it though.
I know of a couple of camera shops that have printers like this, Alot of printing stores also. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding what you are looking for. With a slight exception to the great price.

If you are looking for promo posters to post around town, you down want any of those $10 per poster joints, you want to just go to kinkos and bring some 11x17 poster paper. They come out great, and you will save a ton of money.

My shop does the prepress (film output) for 29 Cent Posters -- as the name suggests, 1000 11x17 posters work out to 29¢/each (plus any applicable tax and shipping). I could help you with file preparation if necessary.
These are made by offset printing with process inks, not photographically or on a "digital press."
