Anyway, I thought you would all like to know the CORRECT usage of the Adobe Photoshop trademark. Are these guys serious?!
Personally I think it would be a goal for a software company to have their brand verb'ed. I mean, how many people say "I just Corel Draw'ed the photo a little."?

I just xeroxed a copy of that. (I photo copied it)

That's good to know. From now on whenever I get a comment like "looks too PS'ed", I will disreguard it. I will only acknowledge comments like "The image appears as though you have applied too much Adobe® Photoshop® software" :)

HAving your brand verbed in everyday life is horrible. Then anybody can use your name legally, since it's no longer trade markable. Company's spend lots protecting there intellectual assets to prevent this. ;D

It can be taken either way really. There is an "intellectual" side to it and that I do understand. But as far as everyday usage goes, using it as verb should be a goal because it quickly becomes advertising as well. Think of how many people know about Photoshop now because it was used as a verb. The intellectual aspect is a concern, but not to the point to where we can't use it as a verb in everyday lingo. Just my two cents worth.
Every company wants its brands to become well known, but not so much that it becomes generic. Kimberly-Clark doesn't want people choosing what brand of Kleenex to use; they want you to choose Kleenex tissues. And Adobe doesn't want you using Paint Shop Pro to "photoshop" your images. If a term becomes too generic, it loses its value (and possibly its legal standing) as a trademark. Some examples of lost trademarks are asprin, nylon, escalator, thermos, and zipper.
photoshop! that's so photoshopping crazy! what's up with this crazy adobe PS bs? I mean, I'm gonna keep photoshopping my photoshops, and photoshop can't do any photoshop about that.
I hope they don't expect all their users to become as anal as that.
