Hey everyone,
My old youth pastor, who was a great friend of my families, just e-mailed me, asking if she could use one of my photos for an upcoming retreat for her new youth group in Florida, she would use it on the shirts and brochures and such. I would like to know what is a reasonable price, seeing as i have no idea whatsoever what to charge, any advice??
ask her if what she has budgeted; if she hadn't planned on paying, ask her for a couple t-shirts and photo credits. if that's not good enough, maybe rethink your priorities. it's not all about getting paid in cash...
agreed, if it's for a youth group and it's a friend of your families then just ask for credits on the photograph, and free use of the camp or whatever for your kids (if you have them).
Plus, if people see this picture was "Kindly donated by Mr blachblah" then it will look good on you for supporting youth groups and such.
Also, if you do it without taking any money you may be able to handle all their photographic stuff which could lead (very easily) to paid work.
thank you all for the responses, i had thought about that, since she is a friend, i could not charge, but she is using it for quite a bit of stuff, so i was thinking just something like $25, nothing too much, and she is planning on having me right a little thing, so as to give me credit.
