This was an idea from another thread currently active (Opinion friends).
I would like to maybe do this another way, moreover a master/apprentice (jedi/padawan?) kind of deal, someone on here, who normally scored consistantly high, taking on someone who scores consistantly low and helping them along with things such as composition, processing etc. to see if they can improve their scores, more of a one-on-one kind of deal than a group thing, which I think has a lot of issues attached to it.
Not that I am one of the great photographers on here, but I think I can hold my own, so I would be willing to take on ONE person to maybe mentor for a month or two to see if its possible to improve that persons photos/score. Obviously it woud be great putting something back into the site, also it would be quite nice to see someone who is generally struggling actually end up managing to do quite well (even ribbon??)
So, anyone out there want some one-on-one guidance for a few months? Then reply to this thread.
Think you have got what it takes to be a mentor? Then reply to this thread! Maybe we can arrange some way of pairing people up together.. Ideally I would like to see some of the oldtimers offering up some time to mentor someone.

I would really appreciate the chance to be mentored - I don't feel I have made much progress with my photographic skills lately, and this sort of mentoring is just what I need! Specifically I would find help and advice on lighting (both natural and low-tech artificial) useful, as well as landscapes, and intermediate/advanced post-processing, all of which are areas that I have real weaknesses with.
In turn I would be happy to mentor some-one who is new to photography, or still at the beginner level.
In an ideal world we would have one mentor for one `student` (dont mean to sound condescending, sorry), however we may have to have 2 to 1, but we'll see how it goes, maybe we'll give it 24 hours before matching people up.

are you sure you need to be on the list matey? I mean, 2 challenges entered, 1 won a ribbon, your average score is 6.7139
8th in your first challenge - 2nd in your second..

Seriously, there are some people here who rarely get a sniff of a 6.x score, I was really looking at helping them guys. You seem to be holding your own quite nicely so far. Fancy mentoring?

I contacted just about all of them looking to set up the Concept creation group that was supposed to go along with the photoshop101 groups.
What you seek in those is not their mentorship, but their mind. Well, maybe both ;)
