I did have one of those HUGE banana spiders in the house once, was alone, sprayed it from across the room with oven cleaner till it suffocated! Still have a greasy spot on the wall there. lol

I found a rat drowning in my toilet so itty bitty spiders are not quite that shocking.. No I didn't take a picture.. I squeaked, ran out and called up my gran to come and kill it..

And from what I've read and seen on the web, that camel spider looks relatively small, compared to some of the monsters I've seen on Google. And they will try to eat your flesh for real, correct? Good grief...
as stated...myth...we have a chart in our medical clinic here that tells of common "insects" and the likes (scorpions) for the Marines to watch for in and around Iraq. It list the camel spider (which is actually NOT a spider) as non-poisous but it's bite can (as just about anything can) get infected. It does have pinchers but prefers other small insects. It is known to "chase" people but that is because it is trying to get cool and likes to be in your shadow. They also look mean running because as they run their pinchers and front legs are lifted up. They only list the size of them to be about what is shown in this thread. Snopes.com tells a little more of the same stuff our chart says.
While not poisous, I still wouldn't want to find one coming at me lol.
I am allergic to speider venom so if i were to get bitten, I could be in big trouble. Otherwise, for the most part, I don't mind spiders that are small, but once they start approaching a few inches across...fuhgedaboutit. I killed a very big wolfspider last year (couldn't even bear to keep the pix I took of it). And yes just plain ol hairspray works just fine.
Well, as long as you have gone to the trouble of dredging up an old thread, I may as well take advantage of it and post a recent pic I shot of a nice big juicy spider.
