Do you use these setting all the time or just for close-ups. I am always wary of changing settings, in case you take some nice photos, but have played around with it to much.
I have been using it on the default setting, and am happy with them, however, those Roses!!!....
When I bumped up the sharpnes and contrast in parameter 1 results are stunning! :-)
No more doubt about the outstanding photo qualities of this camera!

Nice shots; the red in the color rose seems oversaturated on my monitor though.
I don't have a 300D (I have a G2) but you should consider doing your shooting in RAW mode, in which case you can decide on these settings in "postprocessing" mode, including the white balance, which is very handy. I use Breezebrowser for raw conversion, but with an SLR you also have the choice of //www.c1dslr.com/, which a lot of people seem to swear by. You can try Breezebrowser for free, anyway.
WHOA. Super portraits! That rose is gorgeous,too! I don't see it as being oversaturated on my monitor, though. I, too, am curious about any post processing of the rose??
Canon 10D/Rebels seems to be very sensitive to Red color. I think he increased the contrast, and increasing contrast = increasing saturation as well.

I JUST GOT MY REBEL LAST NIGHT! I used it for product shots today at work, but won't look at them till later.
QUESTION: what sort of external flash is everyone using? I didn't use the built-in *yuck*..... and what settings work the best for low light situations?
