I went out for last years here and got nothing due to weather :-(. When you drive down from town [Glens Falls anyway] do NOT stop at the area for parking near the airport entrance. Go past that and turn left and there is an area they were letting cars on the left - next to the runway across from the airport.
I didn't see anything of great elevation in the area (apart from the control tower :-) but they looked to be some nice spots around outside the airport.
There was a thread and a couple of locals, so maybe you can hit google for the thread and ping them. Shame I cannot get there this year as it looked like a cool setup with a lot of balloons.
