One comment sites that part of my image looks to photoshopped... and in fact this is one of the least edited images I've submitted since the new rules.

That just means the picture is awesome and they thought it couldn't be duplicate without help. I can't wait to see the shot when it's over.
That's okay - I got a comment which says they couldn't see the movement of the light, so they weren't sure it met the challenge. Yanno, it's called STILL photography - so even though my light source was not static, the image is. And I wonder how they think I lit it if not with a moving light? I can see highlights and movement in the lighting that wouldn't come from a static light - unless it were fire - no, wait, that wouldn't be static either, would it?

Actually if people did research before submitting and voting they would have a different view on PWL.
I'm glad I look into it more. I didn't submit but I would score a lot better then I would've when I had my preconcieved idea of what PWL was.
As was stated in this post, if people would be more open minded, not be so techinical in their voting methods, just look at the image as a whole and decide whether it works or not. How you edit your image can make or break it. I see technical errors in magazine everyday, but the image works for the purpose it was intended. Alot of images I see everyday in leading magazines would bomb on this site. I personally am loving the new editing rules, it gives you so much more freedom to fix little flaws that otherwise would have caused a shot to score very low.
What would you say to a person who complained about receiving a low score.. but when you looked at the avg vote cast of the person complaining, it was lower than the score of which they complained?
I'm pretty new here... I cannot say that this has happened, but it is a curiousity.
Also is it not almost impossible to tie a particular comment to an exact vote? Although one could make assumptions I think it would be rather careless to try. One can comment long after they cast the vote.
I haven't yet voted in PWL but I do appreciate and have learned from the discussion. IMO, if there's fault in how people have voted so far.. the responsibility rests with everyone involved. Perhaps prior to the voting period these things should have been discussed more openly. I may be at fault but it seems to me there was more discussion about PWL after the challenge than before it.
Just like those bad singers on "American Idol" know one really knows how good or bad they are until someone gives an honest opinion.
I almost never give a comment and a score at the same time. Usually the voting comes first and when I go over the voting I will make comments. I don't think I've ever downgraded a score, but have upgraded numerous times.

I do this as well. I have come to vote in parts now. I also like to go over it after I'm completely done & leave comments on shots I liked/disliked for whatever reason.
