edit again: Robert isn't an honorary San Diegan, he's a real San Diegan, more than me. I've only been here 20 years. Robert's family has streets named after them.
No, I am a NATIVE San Diegan actually, 4th generation. Ward Road was named after my great grandfather. I moved east when I retired. For many years I was a staff photographer for San Diego Magazine, and was a founding editor of San Diego Home/Garden Magazine. I got my San Diego chops all lined up :-) I was home visiting my parents for the week.
And those are not the Star of India either, they are HMS Surprise, recently seen on the big screen in "Master and Commander", and currently part of the Maritime Museum exhibitions.
I love San Diego so much. If you guys ever have a GTG out there, I'd love to fly out and join you, just for an excuse to visit one of my favorite cities in the world :-)
Little known fact: Robert was born Saint Diego Ward. He changed it to Robert after the Catholic Church objected to his use of "Diego". :)
I lived all over San Diego in the early eighties - Chula Vista, El Cajon, Bonita. I LOVED IT down there! My ex wife still lives down in El Cajon. Next time I make it down there I will plan on dropping by Brad's shop disguised as an angry customer. Muwahaaa.

Thanx, Art. But for the record Chula Vista, El Cajon, and Bonita are all separate cities of their own and not technically part of San Diego, though they are in SD County of course :-) And Brad has no angry customers; juts satisfied customers and dead customers....
