Hello guys! I am posting some new photos in my portfolio. I would appreciate it very much if you can post some comments for improvements. I take them all using Nikon Coolpix 4500 set at either portrait or macro mode. (Don't know how to manipulate the ISO, etc. so i do it the easy way).
All of these were taken these past two months. You can also gain some cultural info as I especially like to take pictures of people. Again, PLEASE COMMENT. I don't mind harsh comment too...for as long a they are "constructive".
tfaust: I'm not sure why people refer to any non-studio or non-posed shots as 'candid' .. these are true portraits in my eyes and your work in beautiful. You've captured each person's spirit...really...they're very good. [lighting can be inconsistent in some shots, but that's my only critique].
I was looking at your camera, I always thought that they looked awkward, how do you find it comfortable-wise?

Please tell me what makes these not candids? These people are not posed as in a studio portrait shot. Either way - why does one person's opinion of candid vs. another matter enough to point it out? My thought of these being candid in no way lessens how great they are.
The Grease Man is very good, captures the isolation in the eyes...also the beauty (and she is) and of course the young man and his puppies. I still like your young monk very much - a favorite.
