My old job is really screwing me over. Ok when I worked for them they opened up a health savings account for everyone in the office. They had put 1200 dollars in each account. Once they opened up the account and put the money in the account became mine. It is in my name, now is my money, etc. I had even called the bank and looked it up on the internet and they both said the same thing. I even asked if I quit my job what would happen to the money. They said I could keep it to use at my next job or withdrawl it for nonmedical reason but I would just get taxed 10 percent come tax time. Well as you can probably guess I withdrew the money. I recently went to texas to see my sister graduate from bootcamp in the air force and while there I spent a couple hundred. I had also let my boyfriend borrow 500 dollars for bills etc. A couple days ago my job calls me and says I have to reimburse them 1000 dollars and that I can only keep 200. What sucks now is I have noneo f that money. What sucks even more is that they are not allowed to do that according to the bank. I only need 500 dollars more to pay them back and I can't ask my mom because if she found out I let my boyfriend borrow 500 dollars then she would be pissed! I can't even tell my job to go screw themselves because my mom works for them also and it will just create trouble for her. Even worse thing is that they are our landlord also. So If I said I will not pay it back they will just make life a living hell for us, raise our rent, etc. I don't know what to do. I need to make money fast or borrow from anybody. Can I 21 year old take out aloan if she has nothing for collateral? I need to do soemthing, any ideas!
How about getting that $500 back from your b/f? ... how long will it take him to pay you back if he already used it? The company may give you some time to pay them back if they're not total assholes (especially considering the disagreement you had and your assertion that they should not be allowed to recall that money).
I kind of just needed to rant until I can find soemthing to do....but he can't pay it right now. He is just as broke as me right now....I am going to try and ask friends but I feel so pathetic doing that, like a loser. But what can I do other than that?
Can they legally retaliate against your mom for something they told you was ok AND something the bank agrees with as well? Hell, can they retaliate against your mom for something that has nothing to do with her to begin with? I don't think so, but I could be wrong.
Didnt you have an account here before? If this is the same loser boyfriend that was supposed to leave you and go to georgia or alabama then i feel no sympathy. You shouldve listened to us and left his dumbass.
