I've been using a Stroboframe Pro-Rl for 2 1/2 years now with no problems and I really like it. It has a nice foam covered support that puts your left hand right underneath the focus/zoom rings of your lens, while your right hand is free to press the shutter and other controls, and rotate the camera. It can accomodate most cameras with an adjustment to keep the flash over the lens in vertical position to avoid side shadows. It also has a nice quick-tilt function for the flash that comes in handy once in a while in different situations.
The camera flip mechanism takes a little getting use to, but is second nature once you do. You can mount the bracket to your tripod, which makes it easier to set up the camera. I put my tripod's quick release plate underneath so I have a nice quick sturdy place to set my camera down at receptions if I need to go to the loo or eat something. |
