Hi there.

I have a problem with my Pentax K10D, the thing is that the time and date is stuck on "12/11 2051 02:34" and I can't change it. If I set the date to todays date it just changes back.

And another thing, if I try to select world time, it just stops reacting, it does not select world time, it does not go up, not down, if I try to turn the camera off, it wont turn off. I have to take out the battery to restart the camera.

Anyone had the same problem?
Can anyone help, this is kind of frustrating.

Can't say that I've had that problem, or heard of it with any other K10D... call Pentax?

Does your cam have a watch type battery (one of those thin silver ones) in it used to store settings/date/time that could have died?

Just a thought... I have never looked for the one in my 20D but I believe it is there somewhere.

It stores all my other settings. I'm going to get the latest firmware update. Check if that does anything

Few minutes later: I updated the firmware, but I can still not change the date settings.....

Here is my suggestion, take the pentax carefully place it on the table, wash hands and apply an anti static strap to your arm to prevent static discharge to the camera.

Carefully pick up a hammer and hit it. It tends to work about 90% of the time to fix the problem.

Otherwise I think I'd look into either a battery or software concern call Pentax customer support and see if they can walk you through a reset of the camera and see if it works after that.
