we had one from a Pick n Save a few weeks ago that was all the way to the floor before the thing stopped printing. We had something like 110 dollars worth of groceries however they only took up about a 3rd of the strip. The rest was coupons, store info, address, phone and hours etc. Had to be about 4 feet long.
hmmm.....well i'm only 5'6 soooo that might be a problem. It would be playing Peek a Boo.

And with all the length of my typical supermarket receipt they still use a cryptic shorthand for the name of the item when they could easily print it out in full and not change the overall length.

my 29 item purchase from Publix supermarket was only 16 1/2 inches.
I bought three items at Lowe's yesterday.
My receipt is 22 inches long!!!!
Since this is in rant, can I vent about the shortest receipt length - when you don't get a receipt?!
Drives me crazy going to the gas station, use the credit card, then when you're asked if you want a receipt and hit the 'Yes' button it says "See cashier for receipt". Like, how many people are going to go into the station, wait in line (or be rude and move to the front), and then wait while the cashier figures it all out, to get a receipt?
It's become a pet peeve because it seems to happen quite frequently these days (regardless of the gas station). :/
...and yes, a 22 inch receipt is also a pain! Hard to fold and shove in the wallet.

that is one of the reasons why i always finish my gas pumping at prices like $11.11 or $12.34 or $32.33.....numbers that are easy to remember until I can get to a pen to write it down.
Of course if you need the receipt for taxes or something, then it makes no difference!!!
