So i am in ny for a photograph internship and it is going to take me 3 days to drive by to houston, of course i am not doing the drive alone, my dad is flying to washington and im going to meet him there and we are going to drive back. I had arranged the timing so that I would get back to school just a day before school starts (i have auditions on the first day of school for two shows and i want to be rested and prepared.) So i tell my mom and she gets PISSED and starts giving me hell about coming home earlier in order for me to do a whole bunch of stuff she wants me to do. Also it would allow me to go get all my stuff for school that i didn't bring with me....so finally i was able to work it out to get myself two more days and i tell my mom and she FREAKS OUT, telling me that they already bought nonrefundable tickets a month ago and that I would be arriving at school SUNDAY NIGHT....for school monday morning with NO time to unpack and NO time to be settled in before classes.... I am SO upset about this....because there is apparently nothing I can do about it, especially since my dad won't respond to my emails.
Like..oh my god becky, that is such a downer. I so hope can relate. When my mom freaks out, I just want to scream. Oh my god, parents can be so like, you know, parents...
Sorry, girl. Those who holds the purse strings have the power. Be greatful they're shelling out the money in the first place. Otherwise, you can pay for things yourself and be in control.
Besides, a little opression helps the creative juices flow.

He's right. And don't let this get you down. I'm sure it's not the first and it sure as hell won't be the last time things don't go exactly as planned. I'm doing somewhat of the same thing and have for the past 3 years of college. Move down one afternoon, school starts the next day. The first week of classes is generally pointless so no worries about getting settled and all. Don't stress out so much over it.
