Yeah I know its really early, but I was wondering if we have put a photo in our portfolio - does that mean we cant enter it at the end of the year? (how about for monthly free study)

If I remember right you just hide it in your portfolio.

There's no problem entering a photo from your portfolio - not many people would keep their best photo hidden all year. Post it and be proud.

remember that the photo must be taken in the month you submit it, so unless you plan to re-take the photo, you won't be able to submit a photo for say the December free study that you took in August.

I think that OP is talking about the (possible) best of 2007 challenge, in which case anything taken in 2007 qualifies.

Also, there are no rules against it, but you should not (against the spirit of the site) solicit feedback, as for edit suggestions etc. on your potential challenge entry. Posting it in the portfolio and uploading to e.g. my recently uploaded photos thread is fine.
Just avoid the individual photo discussion threads...
