With all of the discussion going on about the Sony DSC-F828, I decided to take some sample photos and post them. This is an attempt to show what the problems, if any, actually are. I am in no way a professional or camera expert, so I would appreciate feedback if my examples are in error, or I have done something that exagerates the problem.

I am very pleased with my camera (yes I own one), so please do not interpret this as an effort to criticise Sony or the camera.

So far I have been unable to reproduce any of the discussed chromatic aberation effects, but the ISO grain issue is pretty straight forward to show.

Mark thanks for sharing. It is interesting to see results other than from the professionals. Some people have said that you can not tell from the 640 pixels but I’m sure I can see a difference. The 300 D’s and 10 D’s pictures appear to be clearer. Less jagged edges. And from what I’ve seen of the 828 this also appears true. They look sharper yet cleaner.
I could be wrong. I’m only going on what my eyes see on my monitor.

Interesting, the ISO examples seem to be about equal to my own camera. Dissapointing I would say, considering the DSC-828 is much more expensive, and suppost to be MUCH higher quality.
