For my industry, I often write articles for industry trade journals. One of my articles has been selected as a feature story for the February 2004 issue of Broadcast Dialogue magazine.

Along with the article, I was successful in securing rights to use an original George Hurrell image to support the story. After a great deal of effort to restore the 70 year old image, the publication felt that it was worthy for the cover of the issue. Here is a sample.

This is great Michael! It's always a rush seing one of your photos in a magazine let alone the cover! :-) Good on ya mate!

Thanks Yanik,

It's not actually my image, it is an original George Hurrell (incredibly famous photographer from Hollywood's Golden Era). I just processed and restored it in Photoshop CS to bring it back to life and to support my story.

It's really a cool deal all around ... in some ways getting to play around with a famous photo legally is almost as good as having your own shot used (difficult in this case). I'm already a little familiar with the story, but I'll be interested in filling in some details from the linked article.
