My fuji was nearly 6x4 format, then the E20 was a bit wider, now my D100 is very long and find myself cropping most to be more in line to what I am used to seeing (although learning to utilise it the more i shoot)
Example is my last shot - even this had a slight crop to the righthand side. Seems longer than most other cameras that's all....?

Image size is the resolution itself! Obvious implication of more resolution is more image detais and size of file, visible in monitor or filesystem. An 6.3 MP has a size of ~ 3.5 "monitors" at 1024x768, it means that in original size you will need to scroll much more to see any details. In printing size this allow you to get more size with more quality. Soup had explained some issues of your lenses.
If you have 2 cameras with equals MP you can get diferent image sizes, due to diferent effective MP and aspect ratio. Digicams uses 3:2 or 4:3 aspect ratio. And the resulting image can be slightly diferent in dimension from one to one. |
