Maybe I missed this in photography 101, but can anybody help me understand the differences between photojournalism, documentary, reportage and editorial photography.

It probably depends on your point of view, but in many ways to me it would be the difference between a daily news paper, a sunday paper, a monthly magazine and a book project.

They might all be reporting real life, but the focus and intent shifts across the genres

The first three probably have at least a vestige of objectivity, while editorial sounds to me like it would difinitely favor some particular viewpoint. Otherwise I pretty much agree with Gordon, that it has to do with the immediacy and depth with which the story is handled.

With documentary (usually image-based) and, ideally, reportage (usually text-heavy)] being the least interpretive genres.
