I just bought a digital picture frame as a gift for my parents. I'd like to give them a CD with a bunch of pictures on it so they can immediately upload pictures. Is there a good way to resize over a hundred pictures in different folders? I'd like to reduce the size of my files so that I'm maximizing the amount of pictures that the frame can store. Is there a way to script an action like resizing that isn't too difficult, or am I just going to have to do it picture by picture?
t would help if you mentioned which software and computer platform you're using. If you're on a PC, IrfanView is a free image viewer/processor which can batch-process files. Of course, Photoshop (and maybe most) other programs can do this as well ...
I also recommend that you always work on a folder of copies -- that you have adequate backups of your originals -- before trying any batch operations.
FWIW, the Web Gallery option under the Automate menu does a wonderful job of batch resizing images. Just select a simple layout for the gallery. When it is done, you can throw out the thumbs and pages folders, a few GIF files and your done.
