Does anyone here have experience with PowerRetouche Black & White Studio? I need to convert a lot of color photos to good quality B&W in the next years.

It seems pretty good and outbackphoto / Uwe Steinmuller seems to like it, but I'd like to hear some user opinions before spending 61 euro.

I know how to use the channelmixer and so on, but this seems a lot easier and consistent with a lot of very useful extra tools. It can also edit in 16 bit and that is very important with B&W. I will be using it for 16 bit Digital Photo's and 16 bit scans.

I'll download and try the trial version tonight, or tomorrow night. Have to go to a party now. :)

open channel mixer and adjust the rgb levels than convert to grayscale ....

I said that I know this method.
It is just that I don't like it (channel mixer) to find the perfect balance for each of the 100 photo's in a month besides everything else I have to do.
This pluging seems to be able to mimick the tone curves of popular B&W film and does a good job at replicating lens filters + several B&W darkroom techniques.
Doing that kind of stuff with only the channel mixer, color layers and curves is pretty annoying and a lot of work.

I don't think Azrifel said there was anything wrong with the results of using that method, rather it is just too time consuming when he has a lot to do in a short amount of time.
